Welcome:
This free class is for Land Owners who have signed up
for the GPP MTN class sponsored by Gold Pact Power and
BTUWorldBank.
If you haven't already signed up to take this class, you will need to do so before
being invited to attend a meeting with other Land Owners.
Class and Process Guidelines:
- Foreclosure rates across America are rising. This class and the GPP MTN process is part of GPP's program to insure Land Owners keep their property in their family for generations by providing steady revenue from wind farm projects.
- You cannot own both the bank and the wind farm that borrows money from your bank: that is illegal.
- You can earn ten times more than a wind farm lease earns by owning the bank that funds a profitable wind farm project.
- GPP projects are designed to produce a Return on Investment (ROI) of 20% and more: the Gold Pact Power Board of Directors and Team of Vice Presidents and Advisors bring decades of experience in utility grade power to GPP projects.
- GPP projects are bonded and insured to guarantee completion and performance. Loans are collateralized by fixed assets (wind turbines) and all initial capital used to start your bank is returned to you in the first year, paying off any loans or debt used to open your bank.
- A GPP project can qualify for Loan Guarantees under the Department of Energy program, reducing your risk further. This is based on the "Full Faith and Credit of the United States Government."
- You are not alone: part of this class involves meeting with other Land Owners who also want to form Teams to charter a BTUBank and fund GPP projects. The bank you eventually open may be in your region or you may decide to partner with Land Owners in other regions. Your objective should be to select the best possible GPP site based on available capital and fund a project based on your bank's review of several potential projects.
The process is not difficult. The most important aspect is for each member of a Team to show up for conference calls and meetings: within 3 to 6 months, you'll have your bank and your revenue will begin: compared that to a wind farm which can take 3 to 4 years before it begins producing revenue.
Your revenue stream will be approximately ten times the income Land Owners make from a GPP lease. While your bank may be funding a project that is located on your land, we suggest your group looks at a variety of projects and selects the best one based on the ease with which you can form a bank and in a State and County where wind farms are well-supported by the local government and community and naturally, in areas with good wind potential.
Basic Steps:
- STEP 1 - YOU ARE HERE:
You have already registered for this class and
you will be invited to attend conference calls with other Land
Owners to move your bank charter and project site selection
process forward.
From this Team you will form a Group that will eventually become
your Board of Directors who will hold your first meeting.
- Your group will be selecting a CPA, Attorney and a Bank
Formation Advisor to walk you through the process. If you cannot
find them yourself, we can recommend individuals and
third-parties to provide these services, but selecting
professionals your group trusts is not difficult: we'll show you
how.
- Each member of the Board and any other stockholder or
investor in your bank will be expected to provide an agreed upon
capital contribution. This is generally cash borrowed against
your land from a bank you select or we can suggest several sources.
This capital is paid back to you (below) within the first year upon
completion of the charter process and funding a GPP project.
- One of the most important functions is recording your Board
Meeting Minutes. In this class, you'll learn specific guidelines
and formats required during the formation of your bank.
- Once your initial Board Meeting Minutes are complete, BTUWorldBank
(or your Advisors) will provide the forms for applying for your charter.
- If everything in your application is correct, within 3 to 6 months your group will own a bank.
During this waiting period, its a good idea to obtain a lease option on a small, rural brick-and-mortar location for your new bank.
Remodeling costs are minimal: you'll need one customer service desk, a small vault and a single teller window with a teller terminal. BTUWorldBank provides
the terminal and all software and can assist you with the design of your facility.
- Upon approvel you can receive FDIC insurance coverage and begin marketing and accepting deposits. Your hours of operation are up to you: some banks and credit unions are only open for a few hours each week. Some banks operate as online banks and are only available through the internet.
- Within 1 to 3 months after opening your doors, you will have sufficient capital through both deposits and other investors to select and fund your GPP wind farm project. If you complete this process before September, 2010 (current date), the project is likely to qualify for DOE Loan Guarantees, reducing your bank's project risk further. While we expect that date to be extended, but suggest you try to work within current guidelines.
- Upon funding a GPP project, the capital will be deposited in your bank and construction will begin immediately; generally permits and other preliminary site activities described in a Project Plan.
- Revenue for your bank also begins right away: GPP begins paying the debt service on the loan as soon as the project loan proceeds are received.
- Before the end of the first year you will have received all of your initial capital back (step 3 above). From there on, you have no risk or capital gambled on the process, the loan is guaranteed, the loan is backed up by fixed asset collateral and the project is bonded and insured: about as safe as it gets.
The process isn't for everyone: you must be responsible, show up for monthly conference calls and internet meetings (generally once every week or every other week during the charter process)
and get along with others in a professional, cooperative manner, listening to the advice of advisors who are paid only if you succeed.
